Caroline Kennedy Asks Her First Favor of America

Caroline Kennedy has never asked America for anything, until now. This week, former U.S. Ambassador Caroline Kennedy and daughter of President John F. Kennedy asked the United States Senate to reject President Donald Trump’s nomination of her cousin RFK Jr, who she labelled a “predator” and who put baby chickens in a blender.

This public statement is without precedent in the 67-year-old public servant’s life as a member of the First Family, devoted daughter to Jacqueline Kennedy Onassis, older sister to JFK Jr., U.S. Senate aspirant, attorney, writer, as well as Ambassador to Japan and Ambassador to Australia. The video of her reading her statement is below:

Surely America can do one favor for Caroline Kennedy?

In contrast to the classiest Kennedy, there is Trump’s nominee RFK Jr. From the parasitic brain worm, dead bear cub, head of a dead whale that was strapped to the roof of the minivan, and the statement that he “won’t take sides on 9/11.” These disturbingly unhinged stories (even for 2025) set a subterranean low bar for the person responsible for running the American healthcare system.

This week, RFK Jr will have confirmation hearings to be Secretary of the Department of Health and Human Services (HHS), including the Senate Finance Committee today (Wednesday), which is Chaired by Mike Crapo, and then on Thursday RFK Jr will appear before the Senate Health (HELP) Committee Chaired by Dr. Bill Cassidy.

Also opposing the RFK jr nomination is former Trump Vice President Mike Pence and his advocacy group, which is running ads highlighting Trump’s previous statements of opposition to RFK Jr.

There is virtually no example I can point to expect the Republican Senate to do the right thing in this case. This week may be yet another triumph of party over country. But I am mindful of the last stinging defeat to President Trump in the Senate — by the late Senator John McCain, coincidently a good friend of Caroline’s uncle —the late Senator Ted Kennedy. I have put the link and video below to give us all hope:

I’m with you, Caroline Kennedy — thank you for your service to this country. Here’s hoping one favor in a lifetime is not too much to ask.

Thank you Caroline Kennedy (you'll always be a Kennedy to us.) These words, this bravery and wisdom brought back the funeral, the end of 'Camelot' and decency. We are a nation without hope. Your words and your truth brought back the passion and our love for what once was good and constant in our hearts.
